Outgraded on the top 4 boards, this was as good a team result as I can recall from any Ashfield team. Our first or second team would be delighted to match this. Excellent wins for our top board pair, backed up by a very solid middle order and Trevor winning in some style. Our team clearly demonstrated they are not out of place in Division 2. This result moves A3 above Newark 2 and Long Eaton into fifth place in the Division.. Due to postponements, our team will only play 5 games in the first half of the season, and will have 9 games crammed into the second half of the season. Hats off to each team member who contributed to this memorable win.
